In case of Windows 2000 /
ME / 98, you will need to connect to the wireless network using the wireless
adapter utility. Windows XP,
Vista, 7 have their
own built in wireless utility to connect to the wireless network. For windows
2000/ME/98, do not have any built in wireless utility.
Suppose you have a Linksys
wireless adapter on your computer and the operating system on your computer is
Windows 2000 / ME / 98. Then you will need to use the Linksys wireless adapter
utility to connect to the wireless network. Click START. Go to All programs. In
the all program list you will find the Linksys wireless adapter. Click on it
and open the wireless monitor or utility. Go to Site survey. You will find your
wireless network in the list. Select the network. If the network is secured
then enter the wireless network password and connect to the wireless
network.
Steps to connect to the
wireless network will be different according to the manufacturer of your
wireless adapter and the model of the wireless adapter.
