There are two types of print servers.
  1. Wired Print server
  2. Wireless print server

what is print server?

Print server is a device that will allow more than 1 computer to print on the same printer. The print server will be connected to the router and all your computer will print through the router. Your printer will be connected to the print server.

How it works ?

All the computers will be able to go online through the router. That means they are communicating with the router. Now you connect the print server to the router. So all your computers will start communicating with the print server. You connect the printer to the print server. And that's how all the computers will print using the print server.
IF your print server is already set up and some of your computers are able to print then do not set up the Print server again. If you want to add a new computer to the network so that it can print, then you just need to add a printer port on that computer. The Drivers for the Printer should be installed on all the computers that you want to use the print server.
If you are trying to set up the wireless print server , then you will need to match the wireless settings of the router to the wireless settings of the print server. You can open the set up page of the router and check the wireless settings of the router. Then open the set up page of the print server and enter the same wireless settings of the print server.

Now your Print server is communicating with the router. How the computer will be able to print.
For this you should have printer drivers installed on the computer.
If you have the printer drivers installed on the computer , then you will need to ADD standard TCP/IP port on the computer for the IP address of the print server.
Once you add the port , you will be able to print from that computer.
Now your print server is already set up and one of your computer is printing through the print server. If you want another computer to print , then you just need to add the Standard TCP/IP port on that computer for the IP address of the print server.
The concept will be the same for all brands of Print servers like Linksys , D-link, Belkin , Netgear and others
