How to open the ports on the router ?
Some times you need to open the Ports on the router for a particular application such as gaming stations.
If you are opening the ports for a special device in your network, then you must know the IP address of that device.
For example, wireless camera, DVR, X-box, Play station .
You can choose the option PORT FORWARDING for a special device application.
If you just want to open the ports for all the network, then you can choose PORT TRIGGERING
For example ,You have a Linksys wireless router and you want to open the ports for the X-box.
You have opened the set up interface of the router. You will see Application and Gaming TAB at the top.
If you click on that tab you will find different Sub tabs.
Click on Port Triggering => Here you can open the port numbers for the network.
Click On Port forwarding if you want to open the ports for a special device in the network.
Click Save settings once you open the ports on the router.
To open the ports on the router we will need to
open the set up interface of the router.
You will find all these settings on the set up page
of the router.
First we will check the IP address of the computer
on which you are currently working.
Using the IP address of the router we will open the
set up page of your router.

Click Start ==> You will see " My computer" or " Computer ".
Right click on it and go to Properties option. It will open a new
window. On this window you will see the operating system of your
computer.
OR click Start ==> Go to RUN ==> In the RUN box type winver and click OK.
